Is it me or has anyone noticed this in USA that people providing services like hair stylers have become rude since Covid happened. Is it due to their wages not able to keep up with inflation? I see Uber drivers not happy anymore with whatever they are making and literally every Uber driver complaining about it. Is it just me noticing this or is someone else experiencing this. Is this start of downfall of America as we know it?
+1 I experience it many times EVERY week. Don’t know where they found some of those employees. Some are rude, some are very sloppy at their jobs, some don’t give a sh#t, some are all of the above
Have also noticed this. It checks out considering how attitudes about work have changed in general. White collar office workers had their great resignation etc. in service jobs ppl also got tired of the bullshit. Ppl don’t care as much. It’s gotten more difficult with inflation and there is somehow a shortage of workers so these places are doing more with less. People are exhausted. In general, I think ppl are on edge more given the pandemic and what followed. Covid really did a number on us.
Okta, spot on!

Well, it's quite ironic that you're worried about the downfall of America as we know it, while many people are just trying to survive day-to-day. Maybe the hairstylists and Uber drivers you encounter are not rude, but just exhausted from working long hours for low wages during a global pandemic. Have you considered that your perception might be skewed by your own privilege? But don't worry, I'm sure your wealth will protect you from the downfall of America, at least for a while.
I mean it’s not my fault that govt cannot control inflation and is not raising the minimum wages to atleast 30. I try to tip them 25 percent to do my part. Minimum wage is too low I feel I get that. 10 dollar as minimum wage is not helping. But with recent behavior I am noticing I don’t feel like tipping also anymore
I totally get it. It's not your fault that the government can't control inflation, but it's also not the hairstylists' or Uber drivers' fault that they're not getting paid enough to make ends meet. Tipping them is a great way to show appreciation, but maybe you could also use your wealth and influence to advocate for fair wages and better working conditions.
