Hey everyone, I need advice. I have joined Servicenow as a IC1 ( SDE1 ). Till now, it has been just 1 week. But I have come to know that in my team, developers write scripts on the servicenow platform itself. Will this be an issue in my career growth? Because servicenow has its own library basically for everything ( frontend, backend) And everything is done on platform. I am worried that the work/ skills which I learn here will not come useful in any other company. Should I start applying to other companies? And what is the minimum time I should stay here so that it doesn't look bad on my resume. CTC: 35 lakhs ( INR) 1 year: 24.5 lakh ( INR) Edit : Got an offer from a company with much greater pay and hopefully better work. New Tc Base : 25lpa Stock : 40k$ ( 3 years) 1 year tc: 36.91 lakh + other benefits worth ~2.5lakh ( internet expense, call expense, food etc) Thinking of switching just after 2.5 months as pay is considerably more and I have talked with the hiring manager of the new company and the project looks very interesting.

Have you investigated if all platform teams are working on this kind of tasks? I thought they also use Java spring boot... React etc...?
I will investigate further but to my knowledge there are some good platform teams which build the platform and works on Java spring boot. I am not in platform team, my team work on top of the platform. If possible, I will try to first change the team internally ( then changing company)
Tc breakup!!?
(15 base+ 1.5 performance bonus+ pf + gratuity= 17.5 lakh) 3.5 joining bonus 15000$ stocks ( vested 4 years, 25% each)
Can you DM me your experience at servicenow?
I just asked my boss that only application team doing most scripting work on top of platform. Are you in App team?
Yes. There are many app teams. I am in one of them
Can you internal transfer to other team if positions are open? One of my interviews told it's very flexible
@smellnow thanks a lot for the Advice. I am having the same feeling that I will not learn much. I really love programming and have started practicing on leetcode again. Also I have started to apply to different companies. ( The number of openings for new grads are less but I am applying wherever I am getting a chance)
This is career suicide
Yes, at least for my team.
