So a lot of men in tech and venture capital stepped down from their companies because of sexual harassment scandals last year and I've been wondering, what are they doing now? I know some have continued to work in the industry under the radar -- starting new companies, opening new funds, etc. Like Kris Duggan trying to launch a new company 6 months after stepping down as BetterWorks CEO after an employee sued him for sexual harassment. If these guys are just going right back to things as usual a year later, did they truly suffer the consequences of their actions? Just wondering if anyone on Blind knows of men who left the tech and VC world because of a sexual harassment scandal, yet continue to work in the industry. Even if it's someone who wasn't covered widely in the news last year. Curious how often this is happening.
How dare they try to make a living!
This. Wtf do you expect? They switch to working at McDonald's?
They should be on the dole supported by taxpayers and not working. Is there no justice in this world?!?
My sister just went on a date with a VP at a unicorn that I’m sure most people in tech have heard of. She said that he was definitely very creepy
That's power. Knowing you are being creepy and not having to do a thing about it.
Platinum digger
they can’t just stop working. Hopefully they are less creepy this time around.
vance waggoner much?
What did this guy do exactly?
it’s a bojack horseman character based on mel gibson
Not following the logic - they lost their jobs, and will again if they behave in the same manner. Is your expectation that without any criminal prosecution they are supposed to serve a life sentence of unemployment? The more curious thing is why people would hire a CEO now that would be ripe for extortion.
Yes, in some cases that is my expectation if they are not behind bars. Just being honest :)
I appreciate the honesty because I do think there are a lot of women who think this. I have a hypothesis that the new fascists are liberal women.
Mike Cagney is back out there again with a new company in a space that's real close to SoFi's. Sounds like what he did wasn't necessarily harassment but still creepy and gross as all hell. He got funding from a heavily Asian investor base that doesn't seem to care as much about workplace ethics.
$50m in funding OMG. https://techcrunch.com/2018/04/30/sofi-founder-mike-cagney-is-back-with-a-new-startup-and-50-million-in-funding-too/
Tbh as long as the Asian investor makes his dough he doesn't care. It's not like this kind of news travels fast to Asia.
Wait they don’t work at Uber 🤔
They could always apply to be the new CEO of Tesla 🤔

This thread should be called Revenge of the SJWs. They made a mistake and got fired... what more do you want a pint of blood or a pound of flesh? Life Imprisonment? Sick
If the person committed a crime, and it was reported, imprisonment would be called for but there are so many factors stacked against victims. Question: Why are you vehemently defending men you’ve never met?
Why is he vehemently defending "due process" in America? Because of the Salem witch trials. I'd say that serial rapists are the new boogeyman, but unfortunately, there's real assholes like Bill Cosby... and they are rightfully convicted in a court of the law.
Wtf? Because you are not neutered you are supposed to be creepy towards women you work with? It’s a hormone thing is that it
Yes. For WoCE36 there are only two options. Either go harassing women or be neutered. There is nothing as keep your **** in control unless the other person consents 🤦♀️
Where's that dude from Tech Stars now?
Pretty sure you mean Dave McCure and it was 500 Startups. Not Techstars.
Really? That’s hilarious. Are all “reformed” sexual harassers male feminists now?
