Recently informed by my recruiter I've been moved to team match stage, but they let me know it could take a while to get matched. How long does will it take to match for TPM/PM roles these day? I'm location flexible. Aside from Google, I have 3 on-sites coming up at startups and I'm anticipating at least 1 or 2 offers to come from them. I also have phone screens coming up at 2 other FAANG. Wondering if I should put more weight on the other opportunities.
Google TM is a pain. You should weigh your other options more.
Managers have been told not to back full positions in almost every case to avoid mass layoffs in the future. It will be a long and arduous process most likely
I could not get home after waiting for a year. It is messed up, do not bank on it
Did you send your recruiter options throughout that time? Were you flexible on location?
Yes, i sent options. I was not flexible on location but majority had Seattle/ bay area
How’s working at Uber
I’ve been in TM for 5 months, was told (in October) that my feedback is good for 12 months (but I’ve also been told it’s actually good for 18 months). I’ve had one TM that didn’t go through, internal transfers are being prioritized. I’m location-restricted in an uncommon location though. My recruiter has said multiple times that if I wasn’t restricted by location, I would have a ton of opportunities. 3 HMs requested to speak with me but were in cities outside my required area.
That make sense. So I guess it helps to be location flexible in that case, but internal hires are preferred.
It definitely helps to be location flexible, but to echo some of the other responses, don’t bank on Google regardless. I feel like they’re in a quiet hiring freeze right now. Just keep it in the back pocket and concentrate on the other opportunities. And I would certainly not advise turning down other opportunities because you’re “almost through the process” at Google. I’m just being realistic, you’ve gone from outside the club to the waiting room. There are at least 1k of us in the exact same boat, who had “very strong” feedback and are “being prioritized” because of how well we interviewed. At the end of the day, there just aren’t enough openings right now for how big the TM pool is
I’m in the same boat. Curious to know, are you also HC approved?
Random, but generally low and will take a long time. I would not bank on it. You can try finding your own roles on the website to forward to your recruiter and see if it’s a fit. I got my TM that way. My recruiter didn’t do shit.
Yeah my recruiter hasn't been the greatest, so I expect I'll have to do the same. Does the 30 day rule still apply?
What is the 30 day rule?
