Why Elon doing this brutal layoff ? I know as company is private he has to fund it with his money. But hearing news of people working 13-15 hrs , sleeping in office . His spacex coding team reviewing , checking lines of code by each person , this is so nasty behavior being richest person. What happens if people stop using Twitter as Elon is trying a different brutal culture altogether. We as a society cannot stand against such people behavior? We don’t want to fail as society.
This is dumb as hell of a post. Elon can do whatever he wants if he wants to transform twitter culture to be more similar to his other companies it will prob be better for the company. Not everyone is in the same whiny liberal bubble you’re in.
He is changing lot of working cultures across industries, he will bring in unbalanced situation , You cannot have so ruthless work culture as a trend . This kind of treating employees should be stopped like how people trash Amazon for that reason in blind .
Yes he can. Have you heard of nurses? Coal miners? I’m a software eng and I swear you people are so entitled 🙄
Wouldn’t that create problem for the remaining 50% at Twitter? Maybe we collectively don’t buy Teslas?
You seem to forget how Elon got to where he was today
I respect his knowledge, but I don’t respect his ego .
I don't think he even knows you exist.
Losing $4/m a day - just sayin - and he stupidly overpaid
Any employee is free to walk away from Twitter. He hasn't forced anyone to remain against their will. I'm sorry but this is how the world works. Net worth represents value provided to others. The guy is the richest person on the planet for a reason.
Net worth does not represent value provided to others. Even though capitalism is the only thing that works, it favours capital accumulation at the hands of a few regardless of the individual contribution. Also, much of elon's net worth come from speculation rather than real value added. Having that said, I wish Elon have bought my company and fired half the employees (even if I would be the target).
K9cat I think that was the dumbest thing I have read this year. Accept this monkey as a reward 🙈
Lol
He bought the company, he has the ability to do what he likes Also TC or GTFO, T-Mobile
It was more than 50% in many countries. 90% of staff in India was laid off.
Implying it was *less* than 50% in other countries. I'm not sure I understand the point of the observation. I seriously doubt the decision was anything but business-driven.
Elon is not a good businessman. There’s a mistake people make where they think that if someone has financial success, they must be Good At Business. But he is proving that he is not. He’s a self centered rich guy who thinks he is smart and he is surrounded by yes men. He couldn’t be screwing up more right now.
Thank you for best reply .
