Got a recruiter email from Shopify. Are they good? how is culture, WLB, promo rate?
💩
Read their CEO’s rants and decide for yourself whether you think the company is under good leadership. I personally wouldn’t.
What rants. Shopify is one of the best companies out there in terms of future growth potential
There’s a thread on here about an internal memo he published
Great potential, culture and wlb but pay is subpar. Like half of what a FANG gets at the same level
Yeah don't get how stock is so great but comp is so bad.
The Shopify stock appreciation for the past five years pays more than most tech companies.
But can this be said for a hire joining and getting 150k in stocks over 3 years as a senior. Will Shopify 40x in the next 5 years like it did from 2015-2020? I think growth will slow significantly, I think it could optimistically be a trillion dollar company by 2030 if they execute extremely well but that's just 5-6x from where it sits now
IMO new hires may expect 3x in the next three years
Yeah I got a call from Shopify too. Work seemed interesting. Was looking for L7 opportunities. The pay on levels.fyi seems way lesser relative to top tier companies in the US. Though there are not many data points for the US. Can I expect a TC of 400-450k? Current TC 310k (Stock appreciation) 250k Otherwise. YOE: 11
Def better than Microsoft ig
