Shopify has proposed a new rewards wallet where the employees can decide how much goes into RSU and how much as base pay. The catch is that there would be a 5% of RSU increase in RSU. Ex: 100$ RSU would become 105$ RSU. I currently have 130k CAD base and 30k/year RSU. If I fully take cash, I'd have to pay more tax and also lose out on the 5% increase. On the other hand RSUs would be a risk, but defer tax. Any recommendations/suggestions on the best option? #tech #shopify #faang #salarycomparison #remote

Go for cash. Are RSUs vested monthly? Remember Shopify stock is junk now, they received a serious windfall during covid. Doesnt seem like its going to happen again anytime soon
