Do you recommend selling or holding Shopify stock? I’m torn between cashing out now or holding for the long term and would appreciate input.
I don’t like it. I bought it a while back and sold at 1100 when I read into their financials and thought it was overvalued back in early ‘21. BUT if you have information that would make it look like an attractive investment relative to its peers (since you’re an insider), you might want to hold on to it. Also, take into consideration the tax implications of selling since you might get hit with a big bill.
Sell... crappy business model. They were riding on the pandemic wave when their product demand skyrocketed due to lockdown. They have been seeing negative merchant growth last 2 quarters. Ps: former employee
If you don’t have stock picking knowledge, sell immediately on vest.
If you sell immediately at vest then just take your entire comp as salary. At shopify you decide your salary + RSU split
