He’s a new joiner in Q3. Previously has 8 YOE with other firms. Today he didn’t clean himself well after litter box and left a poop stain on the couch. This is the first such incident, but it’s significantly affecting his performance reviews. He’s on track to barely get meets expectations. Should I PIP him? Withhold bonus? Please help people of blind. #Cats #Dogs #Pet #Pets
Does the guy know how to make biscuits or not?
That’s the thing, his biscuit output is highest on the team. Unfortunately he does not adhere to leadership principles (being quiet at night) nor attention to detail (cleaning after poop).
Check your unconscious bias as I feel you're making this more about him being a cat than his actual performance
True, he is in fact a cat
Does he know that?
Yes you should PIP absolutely. But, you need to do it right. Lead your cat on as if they are not going to get PIP'd. Pet them and reassure your cat that they are a great pet and you love them like family. But, wait for the right moment to spring a PIP on them out of nowhere so they are shocked and cannot react before they know what happened. Be a professional about it.
Thanks C1, I hear your company is getting quite proficient at PIPs so I will treasure this advice
Certainly! I have truly learned from the best and am happy to pass this knowledge on to others so you know how to do it properly.

Is your cat on Visa?
Your dumass doesn’t understand that your cat is the boss. If he says, today I shit on the couch… boy, you clean that up.
No man is my master. A cat on the other hand …

Quitting this Slave life
Informal PIP first. Remember cats don’t correlate punishment with things they’ve done. But have a firm conversation with him with data points.
definitely have charts - with arrows and colors!
Thank you Amazon. I will go informal route. Hopefully can get him on track. In his previous role he was an independent contractor. May be some adjustment period.
