Not long ago, Meta stock was at $90. Although it was a little different since we were still printing money well, but investors “lost confidence”. Well, we still had 3 billion DAU so it’s not like we were gunna sink, and now look at the stock Is Snap the next play? I know their revenue numbers are poor unlike Meta’s were. But as much as I hate snap and think it’s a cesspool, they’ve got tons of users. Eventually, surely, they’ll hire competent leadership capable of generating revenue from all those users, surely? I’m thinking of going all-in on snap stock. $11 is very low, but I’m going to wait and see if it sinks further ($8-9 seems very possible). I can imagine a strong upsurge within the next 2-3 years. Thoughts, from more seasoned investors? @Snap #investments #personalfinance
Um, meta was actually working on things. What the hell is snap working on
Buy calls after earnings if you are bullish for long term
SNAP is a piece of sht Buy SMCI instead
Better to wait and watch. Right now, it has higher chance of going below 8 than going above 12. Just look at options OI tomorrow.
What makes you think Snap will bounce back? DAU is important but avg time spent is more important. And how well can you monetize the time spent. It is harder to monetize a chat app like Whatsapp compare to a social media app. Lately there has been a surge in short form videos and Meta jumped on it to save it's ass. Can you imagine Meta stock without Reels. It would still be around $150-200. Snap is lagging behind and they have to do something drastic to get eyeballs. I wouldn't be surprised if companies like Snap, Lyft evaporates within 3-5 years.
> DAU is important but avg time spent is more important. And how well can you monetize the time spent. Did you work at Facebook before? I know these are industry wide concepts but the way you phrased it is pretty spot on discussion lol
Yes, was at Meta when Reels kicked off. When I left, Reels wasn't really getting monetized. After joining TikTok I knew Meta revenue will bounce back once Reels starts to get fully monetized.
The play you are looking for is BABA
Meta was undervalued. Snap was always overvalued. Meta prints $$, snap prints hope of $$. Honestly, Meta was undervalued and risky too but Mark took bold steps to fix the company and its business model and it paid off. What did Snap do? I see nothing.
What bold steps did mark take to fix the company?
Fix the existential threat to meta: Invest BOLDLY in AI (leader) Invest BOLDLY in Metaverse Firing employees - Go Lean (sorry but capitalism) Giving back dividends to shareholders (Rightly so) People praise elon, I praise mark for standing in all adversity having one of the worst businesses models company to leading and diversifying business models. Thats brilliant execution as a founder leader. 🫡🫡
If you knew what I knew, you'd short both Snap and Meta... (in Minecraft)
Can you tell me what you know? (In Minecraft)?
Unless you have less than 10k don’t go all in on anything. Betting on black in Vegas has better odds.
Sure y not
