Principal Software Engineer TC~300K at Microsoft vs 600K at Meta. Is 300k pretty low for Principal scope?
I recently got laid off and have been applying everywhere I could. My tech stack is C#, asp.net, sql server, and a bit of angular for the frontend. I have almost 8yrs experience working with this stack, but I noticed that most jobs are python, nodejs, react. Do you think its worth it for me to switch to a new language at this point in my career?
You can probably learn java/spring fairly quickly
true, c# is very similar to java. Will take this into consideration.
I use to do .NET for years. Back when it was .NET 1.1, but switched to Python and AI/ML. Much better options now that I switch stacks away from .NET.
How to switch tech stacks ? More specifically how to get your resume screened for tech stack you have no professional experience? I can make projects and contribute to open source but is that enough? I want to change stack to java/spring boot. Right now my tech stack is golang, kubernetes, devops
Why from golang to java? People do reverse
Job stability
Do it. Dotnet pay is lower anyways
I think, it’s a worth a shot if you enjoy doing it.
