Should I move to more prestigious company with lower pay
Recently interviewed Facebook and got an E5 offer. I am currently MTS2 in eBay. Might get a promo in a year. Facebook's offer is 350k per year. While my current offer is 400k per year. I feel like work is too slow in eBay with crappy infrastructure but management is just content with my current productivity. I might not have done good enough for better pay or Facebook just doesn't want to pay much to eBay employee. I worked at Google 6 years ago. YOE: 7 years TC: 400k #engineering #software #swe
Can you negotiate? For E5 FB easily pushes to 400k right now and I've seen 450k here although that's not common. With that said, you may not want to move laterally, and that's up for you to consider

You'll probably grow more as an engineer at Facebook. And it definitely helps to have the name on your resume for the future. I would go to Facebook.
Op said they worked at G before. Why should brand matter if they already have it? They could grow faster in ebay too since it's smaller
Yeah, I can see an easier path to grow at eBay. Facebook might be much more competitive.
@OP. It depends upon what you want to do in next 5 years. If you want to remain as SWE, then FB else eBay.
