I'm graduating next year and both internships have the possibility to convert to FT. But both roles are new, so not many data points on FT salaries. Addepar (Product Analytics): - pre-IPO; possible stock upside - amazing people/culture/WLB (4.5 on Blind) - already sent snack box, swag, Uber Eats voucher + met intern cohort so would feel guilty π - could help transition into PM - remote first; MV and NY offices Snap (Data Science/Analytics): - intern comp normally much higher (but have to work remote Canada so could be similar to Addepar if no stipend and they pay in CAD; not sure yet) - consumer product appeal - location flexible; offered LA, MV, SF, NY, Seattle - larger company that can open more doors (but already interned at Amazon) Please let me know your thoughts, especially if you work at one of these companies! If presented both offers at once, I'd go Snap but the reneging makes this difficult for me. #internship #renege #offers #addepar #snap #interviews #tech #analytics
Unlimited PTO bad π
Addepar underpays vs tech companies, but they are decent company. Not sure if you will get a ton of stock as a FTE in the future
I currently work at Addepar, I don't think they underpay. My base is definitely higher than the equivalent level at FAANG, bonus structure is the same, the only difference is stock, which could make a big difference in either direction, but as an intern, it won't really make up that big of a difference for you.
Yeah I was looking at New Grad SWE offers from Addepar vs Snap and there's a few data points suggesting Addepar TC could be higher. I'm also looking into both long-term as I'm graduating next year and could transition into FT at either company, so I think stock is a factor I should consider.
Snap has been bleeding talent, environment is toxic. We've hired from there, it's much better here.
Do you know of any specific horror stories? I did a linkedin search and saw 1 person that went from Snap -> Addepar and another data point for Addepar -> Snap so it's still really hard for me to conclusively choose π
Snap is not bleeding talent LMAO. Iβve been on my team for 2+ years. Of the 25 or so people that have been on the team, only 3 left the company. All others have stayed at the company but switched teams
Curious what you decided OP
Yes
What was the swag lol
Snap has unlimited pto too
