I was laid off, was on the job hunt for 4 months, and finally joined a startup 2 weeks ago and generally like my job. A recruiter from OpenAI reached out to me and I would like to start the interview process because OpenAI is more interesting to me and pays much more than my current role. Should I reveal to the OpenAI recruiter that I just started a job?
People voting yes tell the recruiter are either morons or plainly jealous 🙄
The general strategy is to keep interviewing. If you like the other job you can quit the current one because most states are "at will." Just be careful with your choice, will the job you choose be stable or will you get pip again?
Getting laid off once should have thought you a lesson, no Don't tell the recruiter. Just think what happens when your startup doesn't get next round of funding, you might be laid off again.... always watch out for yourself....
Keep interviewing with OpenAI, don’t mention if not asked.
Did you tell recruiters that you were laid off while interviewing?
Laid off from linkedin?
