Pros MSFT: - fully remote (vs snap rto 4 days a week) - stable stock (vs snap which trades like a penny stock) Pros SNAP: - ML/AI role ( vs azure web services ) - higher TC
well if it pops off that’ll be nice, if not boomerang back to ms
That's a good plan
hows boomerang work? no interview ?
Is SNAP stable long term for a year or two?
Definitely not but he is getting almost 1.5x comp. Take the money and rhe risk while you're young.
Snap stock would have to drop like another 80% to be below your MSFT comp. SNAP could definitely do it but bit unlikely from this point. Also if the stock drop is gradual, and you sell your monthly vest immediately, you would still come out ahead.
Damn snap 4 day rto ☠️
The RTO sucks but if you don't mind I'd say SNAP is a better deal
Snap if you’re not on visa
4 days RTO is abuse, do not encourage it.
It’s a bit of a dumpster fire, but you’ll be paid well and probably learn more at Snap. Just don’t think of it as a long term place to be and you’ll be happier.
How is wlb?
Extremely team dependent. Its not a place to coast, but if you are strategic and push back, I found I could sustain with a solid and focussed (no dicking around) 40 hrs. I came from Meta before though where you will get overwhelmed if you don’t learn how to ruthlessly prioritize.
