Hi Team blind, My interview went well and I wonder what to expect from TI? Should I stay at current company or make a change to TI? Current role and TC: Application Development Engineer, 180K TI role: Application Engineer- wireless YoE: 16 What should I ask for ? Is TI going to beat my current package ? Please advise.
I say go to TI, they made a hell of a home computer in the 80s, bring back the TI-99/4a!
Dude, for 16 YOE, u should be making at least double ur current TC
Sorry. It is a lot for 180 base at TI even with 16 yoe. I would not suggest to join but it is also up to a team. Many of my colleges are realizing that the pay is too low and want to move out. Thus up to you. If your current one is okay then I would stay or somewhere else.
Even for JG29 level? It is hard to beat my current compensation ?
I've worked for TI for a long time. I've worked with good people, good work like balance, and a company with good values. ( Of course there is exceptions in a big company ). Yes I could move to Austin and get more dollars no doubt. But for me and my family, TI has been great.
As far as I know 180 is above average for JG29. (Quite certain) You can talk to HR once they offer. TI stocks can be vested in 4 years and probably you will get 50% of them as options.
Could tell more inside if system engineer growth better or application engineer? I know for sure that AE may dig deeper from technical perspective in general
Interested to know this. I have turned down my offer couple of times as they don’t want to increase the base beyond $130k for JG28.
Out of all the companies I’ve worked for this far (TI, Altera, Intel, Xilinx, AMD n startups) TI is absolutely the better company. TI is the most aggressive company of them all but it does compensate its employees well
How long ago was that?
I have completed the round with PLM(Product Line Manager) and waiting to be on-site, I wonder from which stage HR could reach out to me to discuss the package?
How was the package you received?
The package is just 10% higher and the recruiter is the worst I have seen do far, said a lot of bad things, not very respectful to you at all

Women, help me understand why this is inspirational
For 16 yoe & 180k you should definitely move out of current company.
Hmm, I am considering to move, but hard to find match, think TI is a good one, but not sure about package
I don’t think TI can give you your market rate. Look at FAANG, NVDA etc
