Thank you AAPL and NVDA
In case you live under a rock and don't know. Hong Kong citizens have been taking to the streets in the millions for a few months now protesting and fighting to keep themselves separated from mainland China. Whenever public figures have shown support for Hong Kong though companies bend the knee to communist China and force the person to retract and apologise for there support of democracy. Should companies be able to force apologise and why is this okay? (Example: NBA team owner for the Rockets tweeted he supported Hong Kong. The NBA forced him to delete the post and him to apologise to china.)
You are brainwashed by cnn, bbc, wsj an nyt
How so?
Lol no. I personally fully support Hong Kong's fight. I just want to know if people actually support communist China and if there okay with our companies doing what ever China wants
Shamed no. They definitely shouldn’t be banned. Submitting to a totalitarian regime should never be endorsed and you should never be ashamed to stand up to them, even if it is only a slight gesture. To hell with the communists.
They shouldn’t but what can they do, lose a huge chunk of market share? Don’t be naive
You never saw what are happening in hk. Rioters attack people who speak Mandarin because they think Mandarin speakers are all from mainland China. But the funny thing is they attacked two reporters from taiwan since they don’t know Mandarin is also spoken in taiwan. They use lasers, stones, burning bottles and etc to attack hk police. If this happens in the US, they will be shot by police multiple times. Think about the protests happened in Wall Street several years ago. How did the US police treat the protesters? Open your eyes and look for the truth. They are VIOLENT RIOTERS. It’s no longer a peaceful protest.
They also damaged subway stations, court buildings, gov buildings, and etc. What will happen to them if these happen in the US?
Violence doesn’t delegitimize a movement. You keep referencing the US but fail to realize that our independence was earned with a war. You are just a sheep to the Chinese CCTV
*NBA General Manager. The owner immediately quote-tweeted him and said 'we're not political'.
Thank you for the correction
They shouldn’t be respected. Left at that. Not shamed or banned.
It is only so much they can do against the authoritarian machine that they will never win. Like 1984 they will learn to love their master the easy or hard way.
Roll in the China shills to pretend this is fake news.
Well this is a shitty situation for China and their fault for not stepping in earlier to withdraw the bill and meet some of the demands. I feel like there’s no end to protests now. Did you see the mainlander banker get attacked for no reason? (https://www.scmp.com/news/china/society/article/3031708/attack-jpmorgan-banker-hong-kong-sparks-outrage-mainland-china) I am pro taiwan/HK independence but feel the situation has escalated to a point where China needs to step in. Either meet all demands or solve the civil unrest by force and make the city safe again. By not doing anything and trying to save face with their pro CCP supporters at protests, all they are doing is making themselves look worse and distancing themselves from other countries. PS I hope China’s economy tanks and becomes as cheap as the 1990s again so I can visit and backpack there
So - let me get this straight: You are advocating the PLA kill Hong Kongers?
I am hoping they meet most of the demands and get rid of the current HK administration. However there’s becoming more hate crimes recently, so if nothing is done and things get worse to the point of anarchy, then something drastic should happen because the police can’t do their job. Here is an article from the perspective of a mainlander living in HK: https://t.co/60WfTHdWep
Another example is a pro video gamer was banned from competition for stating on air that he supported Hong Kong.
Who?
And it was blizzard of all companies citing hateful speech
