Should we ban h1-b visas and other sponsorship?

Is this is getting out of hand?

What's racist about asking that question?

How about initiating the petition with your esteemed HR department first?

Visa holders should actually be "highly skilled" and have unique talents. This is not the case for 99% of them today.

Smartsheet entoITgola Apr 17

Even out of college grads get h1b. Not sure where is unique talent

I think given US Birthrate, we will require more immigration or face social security, Medicare and inflation crisis.

Microsoft Minamato Apr 17

Are you against H1B or Indians?

Amazon arcticChar Apr 17

Bet anti-Indian. Old wine in new bottle

Microsoft octjb Apr 17

First guard your border down south. They are gonna do irreversible damage but I guess you would like to be ignorant about it.

The College Board peace23 Apr 17

What “irreversible “ damage? This thing has been said many times over last 20 years. I don’t see any damage. May be , I just have to use google translate sometimes. But I never faced hardship because of migrants.

Microsoft octjb Apr 17

You are the Indian person who got US citizenship and now wants to close the door it seems 😂😂 Irreversible damage as in undocumented people who have come in droves lately, they are being treated well using tax payers money and are not vetted to be in this country like the legal immigrants.

Amazon arcticChar Apr 17

Hey loser, fuck off

VMware gfdsapoi Apr 17

Yes stop legal immigration( cold turkey). Elon proved you don’t need so many people to run a company, right? lol. On a serious note, h1b without green card is not helping h1b people nor citizen. It keeps us on edge and we( h1b people) over work because we don’t want be fired. That raises bar for citizen. It’s only helping big companies. We need better legal immigration.

Walt Disney Uni14 Apr 17

You do realize that the government has a cap on H1Bs that they allow. Also, almost 100% of the US is made up of immigrants so why should we not allow others that opportunity? (Genuinely curious about that viewpoint because I've never heard one that makes sense) Yes, many may send money back to their families in their home country but not to the point where they spend 0 dollars in the US. As a child of those who've been in this country for centuries on one side and on the other side just after WWI I cannot understand why we would forgo giving people a legal route to live in our country and ultimately seek citizenship if they wish. Why is that a bad thing? The US Is known as the melting pot of people for this exact reason.

The College Board peace23 Apr 17

Yeah, given US birth rates in couple of decades we will be pleading for more immigration and this recent immigration will look good and we will question why we were so worked up about it. We took millions after world war. Covid was also once in a lifetime thing hence increased border crossings
