Side income - Amazon eBook and YouTube Video

I’m on H-1B. I’m a writer and plan to create some content on Amazon and YouTube as well. What is the legal way to earn money through these gigs ? Do I register my company in India and manage a team in India so I’ll not be an active contributor and getting paid in India. I’d report my earning in India and pay taxes wherever applicable. Do not care too much about earning, I believe these hustle will keep my brain working much better and remind me constantly that there is life beyond my regular job. TC: $150 #hustle ##h1b #gig #tax

Following. I am thinking about this as well. Other than marrying my gf and registering it on her h4, wonder if there’s any other way to do it. Working towards EB1 is an option too 🥲 On a serious note, I was just going to create an account in India and post there or have it on my mom’s name . Idk

H4 is definitely possible, you could do a lot with H4 if you have good ideas. Apple below suggested something similar, have someone else as the legal owner and work as a hobby and you don’t get paid.

Register the company under your family

Thank you Meatlover (That’s an interesting name you have). Any articles or experience you could share regards to register company in India. Would it be an LLC ?

I don’t have that experience but if you don’t show your face or publicly say you own the company, there’s no way the government really knows that you are the “owner” The government is also not gonna investigate you over a couple thousand a month

Legally, any worldwide active income will be considered US sourced income by IRS due to your physical presence in US. And any US sourced active income is not allowed by USCIS on h1b without the employer having an approved h1b for that active income.
