Guys I’m here on H4(EAD) with my husband who works at amazon too. He's very supportive of me traveling often and he also makes my mom stay with us in US for 6 months every year. But remaining 6 months my mom is alone in India I’m often worried about it as this is not a long term solution and she's getting old. If you were in my place how would you deal with it.
Go back to India. Family comes first
This 👆🏼dont be selfish . Go home.
No easy solution as it's going to take too many years for you to get GC and citizenship to sponsor your mom. Can you setup good support system and visit frequently during the 6 mos she's in India? You going to India is not a solution either as it's not practical for you and your husband.
Why are you worried ? Does she not have a good support system their ? What does she say - does she like it here ?
She likes it here but she's worried to stay away from me.
Are you serious? Everyone’s mom is not a whore like yours.
Wtf? Does her mom not have the right to enjoy life? What makes you think that's not right for her? How effing presumptuous!
Depending on your personal tastes, you could consider moving to Canada. If you guys want your mother to stay with you in America for longer or permanently.
Never understood this Indian thing. Poor guy.
Could she stay in Vancouver for part of the year?
God forbid if this was same situation for your MIL, would you consider the same? I wouldn’t nor expect my husband would do it for me wholeheartedly (lets be honest here). Personally, I wouldn’t want to have my mother or MIL to live with us for the rest of our lives, visiting is OK
When you marry someone your loyalties are divided and you should keep those loyalties if you want your marriage to survive. In your situation you should talk to your hubby and seek his opinion. If it aligns well and good, if not seek alternative solutions like a caretaker. In any case you should decide with full cognizance of your actions. When you say your mom is more important than husband it does not seem right, why did you marry then? I know it might be harder in Indian context but it seems to me your mom can give confidence if she is in good health.
