Agreed with SQL, I have been spending time over COVID trying to learn
Excel is still the king for the foreseeable future.
SQL
Excel and strong accounting background.
SQL and Python, with perhaps some basic machine learning integrated
How do you use SQL on the job
Doing some data analytics stuff and basic stuff like querying for ad-hoc reports and such
What sort of roles though? Investment banking is still going to be heavily driven by relationships/sales/presentations, for example, with any software shifts being secondary
Depends on the type of finance position you are interested in but SQL and Python are definitely needed, probably also an understanding of numpy and pandas libraries

Probably anyone should learn to program a little just to make themselves slightly less inefficient doing menial tasks.
