And slack has to confront a 1000 pound Gorilla called Microsoft
After reaching 1T valuation
Yikes .. you blink you miss it !
"only" 400M revenue
Slack is way better than Microsoft teams. They have fair pricing. Easy to use. Will succeed in long run. Microsoft is selling teams as an office 365 bundle otherwise no one will buy it.
Microsoft is a fast follow company, they will copy every feature from slack will make them marginally better or equal to slack and then choke it on to it's great list of enterprise customers. This where money is if slack wants to profitable See how FB fucked Snap by blatantly copying every feature
And if Slack is not afraid of MS then why were they writing open letter to MS in WSJ
And only “82%” growth rate. Sounds like OP works in Microsoft teams group :)
So they loose money, but make up for it in grater volume?
You pay for growth. You lever off growth you trade rev growth for margin. See Amazon
Linkedin uses slack instead of TEAMS ?
Yes :) lol !
Afaik we use both
Teams is part of the Microsoft platform. Slack is a chat service...not sure why anyone would invest in them.
Because Microsoft Teams is depressing. Slack is fun! Waiting for the time when slack eliminates the need of Outlook. Also, Skype never works, FYI!
Teams has been a performance nightmare. But it’s becoming pretty impressive and that’s coming from an ex dev on SfB. Quite literally the worst codebase I’ve ever contributed to.
Companies who use slack should switch to Discord
Also one trick pony, no revenue moat
Good call 👍🏼
All startups start with one good idea. They are laser focussed on solving one problem
