Smartsheet interview prep
I have an interview coming up with Smartsheet. Any idea on what I can expect for phone screen? Will I be preparing for sys design for phone screen? Any help with prep is really appreciated. Also any idea how many YOE is required to be interviewed for sr swe? TC 🥜 YOE: 3+
No system design in phone screen. It’s algorithms for phone screen. Really up to the interviewer on what they ask so it could be some problem they made up and less likely some leetcode problem. If you’ve done some problems on leetcode you ought to be able to solve it though. If front end you’ll be asked about JavaScript. Don’t hold your breath on senior level. I’ve seen some very good Amzn people not get senior.
Thanks for the info. Any specific types of problems to focus on. Can I expect dp type questions as well or oops?
I don’t know what exactly people ask because it’s really varied. Could be something that involves tree traversal or some array problem, etc. Don’t waste your time on dp though.
Recently finished my interview loop for Senior SDE, awaiting results. Pretty good and well rounded interview process. Phone screen included discussions about SQL queries and optimization about a problem and a coding challenge. Onsite had 1 round of coding, 1 coding and system design, 1 system design round only, 1 behavioral, and last round was with product manager. All my interviewers were friendly and easy to talk to. Liked the overall support from recruiter though they were a bit slow to respond at first (I got referred there). Good luck OP!
