[created this thread before but my account changed from old company -> Snap and seems like it got deleted] Hey everyone, Recently joined Snap and really enjoying it so far. Work is really impactful to the company, good sense of team work, and comp is really great, even if you are currently at G/FB. Stock also vests monthly in equal parts with no cliff! Lots of great work in Android, iOS, ML, backend, product, data science, content creation, sales, product marketing 1) If you have questions about the company, ask in this thread and I'll reply for all 2) If you are interested in considering a career at Snap, go to Snap careers amd find a role that is a good fit and then DM me with link to the role, your resume/linkedIn, and a sentence or two on why its a match. Happy to refer you.
How was the interview difficulty compared to G/F?
Interview difficulty was pretty standard imo
I heard the TC is insanely high compared to Google and Facebook is it true? Also do you see the company sustainable and grow at decent pace
Yup, TC is great, check levels.fyi comp for data. It is accurate. From the interview process I came way optimistic about the future of the company. That hasn't changed
What's the tech stack?
GCS, AWS, Kotlin for Android, assume swift for iOS, all I know.
How is the pay in toronto office?
No idea outside of US
Do you know if they’re any ML teams in NY?
What technologies/languages are used on the backend?
Not too sure tbh...check out some back end roles on careers - may have some insight
Hmm. They just mention generic stuff like most listings: Java, C++ and/or Python, so just curious what the stack actually looks like :)
Haven't heard much about remote workers but they do offer a relocate bonus. WLB has been reasonable so far but people work hard. Don't know much about that team sorry
How's the LA office vs SF/MTV ? What kind of work is done where.
How is the Android team in Seattle?
I heard it's great. This past year they have made a bunch of improvements. Also, a lot to work on across naps, AR, video, messaging, etc.
How is spectacles doing ?
