I had my onsite interview recently, I recently learned that the feedback was mixed with more positive. The decision to hire/reject will depend on the hiring manager and debrief of other candidates next week. Do you think it is reject or accept ? #hiring #jobopening #recruiting
What role?
ML eng
They have a candidate they like more and are making an offer. If that candidate rejects, they will give the offer to you.
I just got rejected from a role after 6 perfect interviews. One interviewer did not like that, I did not take their feedback to change the implementation!!! That was like 30 seconds of the interview. Everything else was impeccable. That's life now.... Like my entire resume is a lie because one person thought I should have listened to them. Wow!
Was that with snap? Damn that sucks!
Yeah the interview process sucks considering how long they are and you could just run into an asshole interviewer that decides your fate. That’s how I felt about the last google interview I had. I feel like the interviewer just didn’t want me to succeed.
Is it a super niche skillet? If so the odds are in your favor. If it's generic tech role or on the non tech side it may be a long shot.
It is niche skilset
Do you mind sharing what the role was? I think my interview was all perfects but I think if there was competition you may be the second choice.
I recently got rejected from Snap for ML eng role. All interviews went really well. The feedback i got was that "the team was considering your candidature but went with someone whose skills and background were more aligned for this particular role." The recruiter also wrote "stay in touch and we might have you in process again", but I never heard back.
That is very weird man! I dont know why they do this
How long did you get the feedback after on-site?
In this market, I will brace for a reject. Back in 2021, it would have been trending towards a positive result.
