Snap L3 offer and promo to L4 timeline
I have an offer from Snap for L3 level. I still don’t have the numbers, just got an email from the recruiter saying the offer was approved, but I’m expecting ~200k TC. I have a final round with Google in a week as well and the recruiter said since I have a Masters they’re targeting L4. I know google takes a long time from final round to offer, so I’m thinking Snap won’t be willing to wait so long. I’m thinking of just joining Snap since I know at L4 the tc goes up significantly, but I’m wondering what a reasonable timeline for promotion is. Also, would snap be willing to negotiate on their offer without an offer from google? If I tell them I’ll take the offer and cancel the google interview if they can give me x tc more for example? YOE 1 TC 150k
Master + 1yoe is hard to get L4 at Google, unless you nail the interview. Any little weak signals will bring you down to L3.

Just got offers from both snap and Google. G won't be able to match snaps offer assuming both offers at L3
Snap you can negotiate if you are in the bounds of the L3 range. Very unlikely you will be bumped to L4

Assuming you're on a good team, you're intelligent, and have high impact. Bar to promo much higher than fb, at least in my org
You won’t get google L4. Masters doesn’t matter much. However, 200k google L3 offer is also quite typical since you’ll have Snap as a competing offer. At that level, pay won’t differ much, down to which company you like more.
You need to have all strong hires for L4 Google. I was super close with similar stats as you. Not impossible but likely L3
