Attentive offer evaluation
I recently got verbal offer confirmation from snap and facebook(400k). Both are based in Bay area.Numbers from Snap is unknown at the moment. I was curious which one should I prioritize if I prioritize career progression and TC. Also, any information on how much signon bonus I can get at Snap. yoe: 8 tc: 300K
Snap L5 = Fb E6
Is this from level.fyi? Is this real in reality?
that’s maybe in terms of comp especially with stock appreciation
Snap TC will be $500k+ and it has more upside than FB
FB has 100K signon plus refresher stacking. Wouldnt it make it more attractive in long run?
Yeah refresher stacking is a big edge
Snap uses the coolest voice recognition tech 😎 and it’s easier to have an impact (due to smaller size). You may want to consider Facebook depending on TC and the team you’ll end up with. If you have not yet met future manager, this is a good time to ask. As I grew older (and hopefully wiser) I tend to pick manager over company or TC (for comparable opportunities).
Bad advice about the manager - reorgs are so frequent here that it does not make sense to consider it the most important factor
Then join Snap. Inconsistent management is a plague.
In TC usually Snap > FB > G. But these are generally considered equally good places to work, so if TC is equal then G > FB > Snap.
Snap L4 offer is around $400k Snap L5 offer is around $450-550k
L5 starts above 500k
Snap L5 is >= 550k.
At L5/well established career, easily Snap. Our TC is great, select teams have good work, and at L5 you will probably have good visibility into impactful projects. At L4/3 I would say it is more of a toss up.
L5 at Snap is higher than FB E5. L5 is area lead equivalent, L4/E5 is senior
Snap > FB. FB declining due to limits on cross app tracking, increased government regulation and toxic reputation both internally and especially externally. Snap!
Sounds like snap doesn't have cross app tracking issue?
I don’t see much problem of implementing cross app and cross device tracking *server side* with certain % of confidence. Sounds like hard and interesting problem to tackle on, but not impossible
