Snap VS Google VS LinkedIn VS Two Sigma

Hi bro, I am seriously seeking some advices for my offer choice. Here are the options I have. 1. Snap L4, Seattle, 175K base + 530K equity vesting over 3 years. Pros: biggest TC, matched with some cool managers, great culture. Cons: huge stock price risk especially at 2022 market. Most people(including me) are not confident with their future. Not very remote friendly and Seattle is boring to live. 2. Uber SDE2, Bay Area, 165K base + 23K bonus per year, 303K equity over 4 years. Recruiter said she can bump to 400K equity and plus 25K sign on at maximum. But after hearing i have Google offer they seemed to give up and stop following so I didn’t list this 3. Google L4, TC Base 180K, bonus 20K, Equity 331K, signon 20K. This is based on Mountain View might become lower if location changes. Haven’t team matched Pros cons: everyone knows 4. LinkedIn senior, Bay Area, TC unknown, estimate 260-310K. Team matched Pros: good pay and wlb, very remote friendly. stable stock Cons: lower than snap if snap doesn’t crash. 5. Two sigma, New York. 200K base 100K bonus 50K one time signon 20K deferred stock compensation. team matched. Pros: New York has much more fun for a young single. Pay and wlb are also okay. Cons: expect to handle lots of tech debt, outdated stacks. Poor career growth Actually I am more inclined to snap because I feel this opportunity is not reproducible. For Google and LinkedIn, I have chances to join in the future with similar or bigger offer. So this question can be more like, is joining Snap at this time a smart decision? Yoe: 2 L5 at Amazon Current TC: 190K after stock crash. Edit: update google and two sigma package I was surprised by two sigma number it becomes the highest one. Is joining two sigma a good choice if I care career growth the most?

Don’t stay at Amazon. All of ur other options are better. Frankly, Snap will come back.

Those are good offers, but what are you looking for? More structured company? Fast pace experience? Larger scope? More money? Only you can answer since this is not a TC question. If you are not sure, go to Google.

Why not Meta

Amazon Yodx12 OP Jan 23, 2022

Meta doesnt even give me interview chance due to my low YOE😭

JPMorgan Chase brjqhsopw Jan 24, 2022

Bro I have the same YOE as you and I’m joining Meta next month

Impressive set of companies to get offers from. How many LC did you do to pass all these interviews? What was your system design prep like?

Amazon Yodx12 OP Jan 23, 2022

I played Leetcode from 2016, so the number doesn’t really mean much here. My contest score is around 2200. I felt mid-level system design questions are not too hard. I just went through the educative one and watch some YouTube videos in-depth

Man your skills are no joke, no wonder you got those offers! Congrats and kudos to your hard work!

Snap jerrry Jan 23, 2022

I'm afraid to say you'll miss out on potentially the best time to join if u don't join within 1 week 😉

Amazon Yodx12 OP Jan 23, 2022

Curious to see insiders view, will your earnings bounce the price back?😂

Snap jerrry Jan 23, 2022

Eh no one knows how market will react.

Hella good offer bros, Congrats!!! Any tips on how you prepared?

Amazon Yodx12 OP Jan 23, 2022

I felt most interviews still focus on coding. For junior and mid level, If you show really good algorithms skills, they typically won’t reject you. And thanks to Amazon, I grind some LC every month since joining😂

Bloomberg xgQC82 Jan 23, 2022

Two Sigma TC estimate seems low tbh. I got 425 recurring from Citadel with 3yoe. These are still great offers and I imagine you’d be able to grow the comp at 2S pretty quickly. That or LinkedIn would be my pick.

Amazon Yodx12 OP Jan 23, 2022

Thanks for the info, but from most other sources(level.fyi) they no longer pay that much for SDEs. I will update here once I heard back

DoorDash icman1 Jan 23, 2022

What’s your prep strategy for coding interviews?

Amazon Yodx12 OP Jan 23, 2022

I probably never drop my LC skills after joining Amazon. I started to join contest every week since last summer and prepare some high freq questions for the interviewing company.

Honestly how are you L5 with 2 yoe?

Google low TC Jan 23, 2022

Amazon L5 is SDE 2 (mid-level).
