Currently a DE but worked in many customer facing technical roles in the past and thinking about getting back to sales engineering in the data space. Motivation is simple: in retrospect, I think that being an SE was the most enjoyable part of my career while being a DE is a bit boring. How much can an SE make these days in a company like Snowflake or Databricks, what is the common breakdown into base, RSU, commissions? 20 yoe in tech, 10 in data, 3 in pre-sales. TC: 320K
My buddy just left snowflake after a year as an SE on the corporate team bc he felt burnt out. Does it very team/territory to territory? what is your split there?
