Snowflake announced its IPO and will start trading on 9/16. For those who are planning on buying the stock, what’s your entry strategy? UPDATE 9/14 - Barron’s says that it will start trading on Wednesday 9/16 https://www.barrons.com/articles/tech-ipos-snowflake-jfrog-sumo-logic-unity-51600109693?st=jhkxki6z2jot0rd UPDATE 9/12 - updating trading start date to 9/15 based on https://brokerage.fidelity.com/ftgw/brkg/ipo/calendar #investments https://techcrunch.com/2020/09/08/snowflakes-ipo-could-value-it-as-high-as-24b-salesforce-and-berkshire-to-invest/
Are u sure it’s October 16th?
Damn it. I meant 9/15, next week
What trading platform allows investing right after IPO?
It starts trading on the NYSE under SNOW on 9/15 and should be available to retail investors. Institutions and large investors would already have bought in through underwriting.
Sure but based on prior experience, Robinhood takes a while to list a stock to trade. It'll be too late by then
I think u need to have greater than 1 mil net worth to get in before market
Rich getting richer. This is definitely going to shot up, just because of hype. Anyone buying before listing are making free 💰
Not true. $250k total net worth will get you on the pre IPO lists at Fidelity. You do have to buy $50k at a time though.
OP where did you find the date? I didn’t find it in Google

Thanks!
Wait for options to become available and then buy.
Then buy options or regular stock ?
Buy stock as a long term investment. Buying options directionally is a fools game and yields a negative expected value.
NEVER buy on the first day of IPO. Let the market settle and find a midpoint price that they feel is comfortable. I always buy IPO after a few days, or if I'm day trading, buy on the first 5mins and flip in 15. Risk adverse strategy? Wait a few days to a week and determine what the market is comfort paying. Case and point - Zoom IPO. Traded at 75us then settled around 60-65us few days later, held that support level for awhile until the positive news and expansion
How do you know it was a dude? Maybe it was a dudette?
Anyone know when their lock up is done? Usually 6 months? Prices will be low by then.
Check the IPO filing prospectus, generally 6 months to 1 year is fairly common. Haven't had a chance to check myself, going off past IPO stock restrictions

buy Berkshire
They are investing like less than %1 of their market cap. It will not move the needle.
Yeah that’s a good thing. Way lower risk
