Congrats on upcoming IPO. How is the culture at snowflake? I see mixed sentiment in glassdoor reviews. Curious what’s the sentiment on the ground is overall, about the culture, people. Are you happy and will stay or will leave soon? #snowflakecomputing #snowflake
Can't say which team, but my team is good too. No politics, incredible future scope for challenging projects.
I am also considering changing after IPO my team culture is bad
Mind sharing team? Feel free to DM if not publicly
Why would you want to change after IPO. If the stock performs well it will be a significant growth in your TC. Is the team culture really that bad?
Super team dependent. I will say that compared to my previous FAANG job There is less “bullshit”: less woke noise and less high minded chat about changing the world or connecting people. The company is measured against revenue and growth, leadership makes no secret of that.
Huge +1 to this. More signal and less noise all around.
Agreed.
It's a non-sjw, sales driven, numbers and results oriented culture. No nonsense and no passive-aggressive shit. Mostly straight forward people saying what they mean. Which means no back-office politics and growth is usually driven by performance (generally). Which also means, Its not for everyone. There are some things we can do better. Such as a 401k match. Better health insurance offerings. Better benefits in general. This is likely to happen shortly anyway since the lure of a pre-ipo stock is going to be over soon and we'll need to make compelling offers to hire quality engineers going forward.
Truth.
Sometimes I think "How did I hit this jackpot?". Honestly, I never had issues in resolving a conflict or disagreement. Most engineers are on the same page and work for the same mission. I never had to worry about doing anything other than building features and fixing bugs. No nonsense indeed. Hopefully that doesn't change.
I've worked on a couple different teams at snowflake and have had positive experiences all around. Some growing pains and we could use a benefits upgrade, but things are generally good here. Some people don't like the no-nonsense, data driven culture, but those who do tend to excel here.
Enhance your benefits with your new equity wealth. You’re really going to complain about a lack of 401k match?

Uh oh: President Trump leads Biden 49% to 43% in a two-way race.
It strongly depends on the team, but the general sentiment seems to be fairly positive. My personal situation is not as great so I’m considering a change at some point after the IPO
How much is ur stock worth on paper now?
Not sure how that matters wrt the comment, money isn’t everything?
