Can't force a recession as people still have a lot of cash. You'll get stagflation which is a lot worse.

4 YOE as SWE, non-FAANG experience. Had 20 recruiter calls, 15 screens, 5 onsites, 1 offer within 2 months of beginning my search. My pass rate was about 75% on screens (cancelled all of my remaining screens after receiving offer) Def don’t think the market is as bad as online sentiment

It's a lot better than it was. It's nowhere near what it was like in early 2022, but I think we're a year away from it being back to normal - or at least good enough for good engineers to find work elsewhere.
