SoFi vs Amazon New Grad
Trying to decide which would be better option. TC is similar, ~$160k for SoFi ~$180k for Amazon. Amazon is in higher cost of living area so it evens out. I think SoFi would be more chill and the benefits are nice (mostly talking PTO) but I am looking for a place to grow so wlb isn’t the most important to me atm. I know at Amazon it is typical to get promoted to SDE 2 in 2 years but not sure what it is like at SoFi. Also concerned about losing my job at Amazon with layoffs and it seems like a gamble on getting a good team or not. What do y’all think? Current TC: $0

Amazon gives you a boost on resume for your next job. Unless you can land in Google or Meta as new grad
Yeah that’s why I really want a faang on my resume, my career has been awful since I graduated in the middle of the pandemic and worked for a no name startup. No recruiter hits me up on LinkedIn, feels bad man
Depends on how good you are OP. Amazon is dog-eat-dog stack rank culture, but also carries better resume weight if you survive for 1 year+
Is Amazon really that much better on a resume these days?
Amazon might have more mentors but might also be more sink or swim. You will be competing against all the other new grads to not get pipped. SoFi also has more upside.
