How has your social life been affected (or not) from having a remote job? Considering working remotely, but I'm afraid I'll lose social skills. Maybe I shouldn't let my job be my social life... What about you?

How to relocate out of Blue areas?
I was freelancing from 2006 to 2010 (web dev), it doesn't. You'll have plenty of time for your friends and spouse, because you save time on commute AND nobody distracts you with useless chitchat so you complete your tasks in less time, and can go do your social\family tasks for the rest of the day :) . I was on the beach every day when I was freelancing :) (not in US).
Oh man sounds great. Thanks for sharing!
Depends on the person of course... If you don't have friends outside work then it's a problem lol (then this needs fixing :))
Makes sense!
I enjoy working remotely and it has actually helped my social life
Thanks!
It all depends on you. Sure it is easier to have social interactions when you work at the office (and you lose it when you WFH) But think of wfh as an opportunity to build your a new social calendar for yourself. Since you don't need to commute, you can use that extra time to check out more venues and chat with more people
That's a very good point.
Most work socializing isn't more than surface level interaction anyway.
That's fair and I've found that to be true. Superficial conversations don't lead to satisfying relationships.
Blind isnt enough for you?
I mean you guys are great but....
