I have an upcoming interview for a Software Engineer II position at Disney with the Interactive Platform Engineering team within the Disney Entertainment & ESPN Technology (DEET) organization. According to the job description, it's specifically for the Fantasy Sports & Gaming Platforms engineering team. Deep understanding of the Java programming language and object-oriented programming is one of the minimum qualifications so I'm expecting a Q&A session with Java and OOP, but can anyone offer any insight and share the Leetcode problems you were asked, if any? And please share your interview process in general, how many steps were involved, etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance. TC: 135k #disney #interview #swe #engineering
Don't get your hopes up, you haven't even had a recruiter contact. Disney is famous for automated rejections.
Edited my post. I can see how my wording may have caused confusion. I have an interview lined up. Hence the reason for my post.
The HM and the recruiter should have already told you what skills the team expects. Why are you quoting the job description if you already cleared the recruiter and hiring manager screenings.
Every group is different so who knows, but make sure you can sound intelligent talking about system design. Yeah it's good to know how to write code too. Go in with test driven development strategy, keep basic java syntax in mind, and practice some simple common programming challenges off the net. If you got that down then your foot is in the door pretty good. If you can whiteboard system design and talk about scalability and laying out aws infra, then your whole body is in the door. That's the extra mile you really want to have to be taken seriously. But don't sweat the programming questions too much. This isn't Google. It's not a bullshit crypto startup either where you can dude bro your way in, but it's still not Google
Thank you so much for the insight. So far the most helpful response I've gotten across the web. I’m honestly not familiar with AWS since we use GCP at work but I'll definitely look into system design with AWS. As far as the coding problems, do you have any idea what kind of problems they usually are? Dynamic programming, trees, strings and arrays, etc.
Hey OP, could I please ping you ? If you got a min can I DM you ?
Yeah for sure.
Hi op, can I dm you ? I have my interview scheduled. Thanks in advance.
You could probably expect to not get interviewed, Disney is very selective
Why so? Are they that good? Pays FAANG kind money?
