Hi all, I have a interview coming up for the software engineering role- product design. Can someone please help me out about the product architecture questions being asked at Meta(Facebook) #engineering #software #swe
Check “grokking the system design interview” questions
I was asked a very weird question during my system design round for Infrastructure role. The interviewer asked me to design a client side library that can be used across multiple platforms to fetch images from the image server. The two constraints that were provided to me were computing power and memory
Not sure why you found it weird, but this is a very standard question. The crux of the answer is using a publisher/subscriber model and using torrent peer-to-peer sharing on server side.
I attended product architecture round 1 month back Question is same like system design But they focused on API, db schema design, client server interaction (Designing the Api is the main focus) No need scalability, distributed system, cap theorem, sharding There is also a video for product architecture sample interview in fb preparation link.
Do you have a link t lo that video? I can’t seem to find it when I login to the recruiting portal
It will be available in swe prep link which is sent by them in email
Isn't product design all about UX/ UI and not system design? That's usually what I have seen as requirements for this role at Meta.
Did you have your interview? I have one coming up in a couple of weeks and had the same question.
What did u get?
I interviewed for Software Engineer - Product, but had no idea there was a “product design”. I have no idea, but I would guess it would be standard questions.
