Hi everyone, I just scheduled an interview with a recruiter from SpaceX after a long call, and was wondering if the fact that I'm a Pakistani citizen on a visa will be a dealbreaker? The recruiter seemed very positive that I was going to get in easily, said they're hiring more women to encourage women in space tech etc and was very chatty, so I forgot to ask her this out of a mix of excitement and intimidation lol TC 170k
What kind of visa? As long as you have a normal profile without red flags and clear the interview, who cares?
the government does , especially if the company has a lot of federal contacts .
Most of these projects that come under governmental contracts or in defense sector will require you to have a GC at a minimum.
You must be a US citizen or green card holder to work at SpaceX
not even gc
Microsoft, green card can work in SpaceX. SpaceX doesn’t require clearance, they are ITAR.
did you confirm if it’s a position that needs security clearance ? If it is — it’s mostly a no go. I think someone brought this up in the past too , and Elon musk publicly told it was not spacex policy but the policy of the state that prevents hiring of non US citizens.

You need to be a US National.
You cannot work there unless you have green card or citizen. No visa allowed. Same goes to any DoD companies.
You might wanna check this, Elon has addressed this. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=CIvtiNpKEY0
not gonna happen OG

SpaceX is restricted from employing non-citizens/gc holders from US dod export controls. Might want to take a good look at those and bringing it up with the recruiter before tendering a resignation if you get an offer. - fellow Pakistani
So F1 student visa extension/H1B is fine but only for certain countries?
No. You can’t be employed into space tech in US unless you’re a gc holder or citizen Example https://boards.greenhouse.io/spacex/jobs/6547548002?gh_jid=6547548002
