Wife wants to become a speech pathologist. Wondering if anyone has any experience with this... and more importantly if it makes good $$$. Thanks.
It doesn't make blind level good money, but it is a rewarding career path in other ways to those that I know in the field.
I have two close friends who have become Speech Pathologists. To the best of my knowledge, it’s not a high paying industry but it is fulfilling. One of my friend works at a school and so she helps primary and middle school kids. The other friend works at a hospital who also works closely with kids. Also, both of them are from India and work in the SF Bay Area.
How do people on Blind know everything
Huh?
That's a shitty claim. One of my friends that's a speech language pathologist is a guy and he likes his job just fine. His wife is also one. It's how they met.
🤣🤣🤣 Was expecting the same thing! WK to the rescue!
Here’s what the US Navy pays them: https://www.usajobs.gov/GetJob/ViewDetails/591284000
That's quite a range, 55k to 155k for those too lazy to click
155k would be for ~20 years experience in the govt I think
You can expect around $50-70/hr within a few years if working for someone else. Probably a bit more if she opens her own practice.
A good friend got his Master's in speech pathology and he made good money working with older stroke victims etc. If you work for the schools with kids it can be rewarding but pays less.
My ex was an SLP. Made $45K in her “practice year” or whatever it’s called. I forgot. But it doubled after she was done with school. She was Chicago based at the time.
TC or GTFO!?
You are messed up
No you.
