Both pay around the same. Splunk does team matching later. I can message WS team name. https://techcrunch.com/2021/05/03/wealthsimple-raises-610m-at-a-4b-valuation/
How much do they pay @OP ?
Not very high because Canada
Splunk
Heyi are you open to dropping a referral for me at splunk ?
Just curious, why?
Given the same offer, I’d pick WS
Why?
That's a tough choice. Splunk is a bigger name and known well in the data space. Wealthsimple is no joke either and is a very fast growing company. I'd probably pick WS just because it's a younger company so there's more opportunity to contribute I'd assume. I also like WS products since it's B2C whereas splunk is more of a B2B company.

Wish I saw this when you posted it. I worked at Wealthsimple. I couldn't care less about whatever name Splunk has, WS is the best best place to intern. The culture is amazing, and you will actually be treated like a team member from day one, not like an intern. The problems WS is working on right now are so exciting that any intern going there will really be doing stuff that you will literally see go live. I got so many great opportunities and projects as a operations intern that I was able to use it to secure an operations internship at Amazon. Would have stayed at WS full time if not for having a family and needing the security that a role at Amazon could offer. You can tell I'm a fan, I'm sure. But if you haven't chosen, choose WS.

Why do you believe Amazon gives more security out of interest? I’m heading in the opposite direction - from amazon to Wealthsimple.
Splunk for the name
How much does the name matter?
Name does matter but if this is an internship, I'm assuming you're likely going to apply for another internship/co-op like the UW students or apply for new grad. In those cases, I don't think having the biggest names r that necessary, aslong as u can show u did meaningful work in past roles
