I finished onsites at both of these companies recently, and while I don't have any firm offers yet, both recruiters have said that feedback has been really positive, and they are just waiting on wrapping up other candidate onsites before making a decision. That said, I'm hoping I'll get an offer from both of them, and get to make the most appropriate call. The Spotify role is at the DS II level (TC: 200K), working on the music marketplace team focused on artistry and music creation - the projects sounded really broad and interesting, with impact to guide future strategy within that space. Beyond that, Spotify has always been a dream company, so I'm admittedly more starry-eyed than I otherwise would have been. The people at Spotify were also really passionate about music, and it feels like I've found my people. The Reddit role is at the Senior DS level (TC: 275K), working on the content and communities team focused on user behaviour, acquisition, retention - the projects are primarily experimentation-based (not my expertise or preference). However, Reddit is still a company I'd enjoy working at, and had the kindest people throughout the process. Would love to hear from DS at either companies, especially moreso if you have worked at both companies, or work at one and know people at the other. I’d negotiate Spotify up and then take it. Most people here will say chase the TC, but only you know how much it would mean to you to work at your dream company.
Recently left Spotify DS and I assure you the work isn’t as unique as it may sound
I would go with Reddit since the comp differs by too much. How do you know TC before getting the offer?
which one did you end up choosing?
Hi Zillow, which one did you end up choosing? Also, any interview tips? I have phone screens coming up at both
Did you go with Reddit? I'm considering it
Any tips how did you crack them?
