Big tech noob here - Wondering what everyone’s opinions are on building out my incentive mix. Recently accepted an offer and looking for some help given current market conditions. TC: 165 base, 178 RSU/4 years 7 YOE
I think you need to consider how long you may stay with the company. I think ATM options can be worth the risk but may take a while to come to fruition, OTM even more so. I went with the standard mix.
Unless you need the cash I think the standard mix is ok
RSU even during good times 2016-2020 were a big bet. Now are a bad bet. Options are a bet that thing will outperform expectations. Do you really think Spotify stock will 2x? Cash 💰. Always take cash. U can always buy company stock or SSPA if you want.
You really think $spot 2xing in the next 5 years is a bad bet? Seems ok given market is complete shambles. If and when we see the fed ease up, think 2x isn’t a bad bet at all
Also am I misunderstanding the benefits doc when it says that for a 34% growth in stock, we still slightly outperform stock returns for ATM?
I joined during 2019. Took a mix of RSU and Cash 💰. I only regret the RSU 😜
Also wondering what people would be taking for this. Starting in a few weeks hard decision
Is the TC you posted the offer you got from Spotify?
Yes but not in the US of A
Tech stocks are down big this year. Pretty nice risk/reward opportunity taking stock right now
