Got laid off this week from Meta. I got 4+ years of ML relevant experience and I really want to work in Spotify but I keep applying and they keep rejecting. I have more FAANG experience. Is that it? They don't want people spoilt by big corps I'm starting to wonder if FAANG is really good on my profile or not, anymore #interview #spotify #pm
Do you think just because you worked at faang you are royalty? Jesus
Prob why they reject op automatically. God complex
I *don’t* think OP sounds arrogant. They sound sincere to me. isn’t it reasonable to think recruiters look favorably on FAANG experience? But now OP is wondering if maybe not, since Spotify keeps rejecting? Seems like a reasonable question for blind
why spotify
Amazing WLB, chill culture, 100% remote, and still good pay (for US). FWIW I rejected Google offer to stay at Spotify.
and what’s your TC, pal
Obviously 0. They just got laid off
do you think thats the only reason? Try to do some self reflection. There are like more than 100k faang engineers. Dont give up yourself to superiority complex.
Too bad, you could make it so their playlists weren’t so god damn repetitive.
Please, someone fix it
The new AI DJ is pretty good. Haven’t had any repeats and it brought up some bangers I totally forgot about!
Why FANNG matters? OP I didn’t get your point. FANNG is just few company names, it won’t prove you are good. Lots of genius people out FANNG and lots of shit people in FANNG
Yeah my point was the same, FAANG doesn't matter
i got an offer for MLE last year with FAANG experience. wouldve taken it too if the TC were higher
they just laid people off to post jobs for the same roles on different teams. I doubt they're actually hiring in any significant way.
there lots of folks from twitter got offer from spotify. they are taking advantage and downlevel some of them so there probably a lot of talent already in the pipeline
As far as I know they’re not even really hiring right now. I interviewed and got good feedback but recruiter said head count was cut so the position wasn’t there anymore
