gonna be honest… your ceiling is wayyyy higher as a SWE/MLE who has done research than a research scientist with no PhD or top lab experiences and publications. Might be wise to target those roles.
That makes sense. Do MLEs who help research in places like Google get credited in the publications? Not sure what that landscape looks like
