yoe: 5 (2 years DE experience) TC: 85k + 34k RSUs over 4 years I've an offer from Nike for a year long contract position, at TC of 125k, no bonus or stocks. Which one should I choose? I'm thinking I can get into FAANG DE after a year but I'm confused bcz a friend of mine is hyping up Square.
Also check benefits. Contract positions usually don't include them.
Square - but the pay is so low. What’s your current TC
Lol. My current TC is 🥜🥜 Both these offers are better than my TC
Ah ok. Square is way better. That will Help you move on to better offers
I’d take square also over a Nike contract.
Isn't 40k a lot of difference?
Ah I misread your RSUs... yeah. Just don’t expect to convert to FTE at Nike easily.
right now is a bad time to take a contract job at nike...worse then normal. Fiscal Year starts June 1....so right now lots of budget planning going on right now...so high risk of a project's budget getting cut. I would compare benefits as someone stated maybe the numbers get closer PTO, 401k match, healthcare costs, employee stock purchase plan, etc..
Can I DM you?
sure...i don't know any budget specifics...just what i see every year.
Why don’t you show Square the Nike offer and ask them to match?
I did. They won't!
Location? Are you on visa?
Have you seen SQ stock?
Can I DM you about your DE interview with Square?
Be careful with contract positions. Companies can and do terminate contracts before the end date if directions change. 12months is a long time for directions to change.
Can’t they do that with full-time positions as well?
@forecepoint Less often, generally Basically opt in vs opt out (of the process of terminating you)
