Has anyone ever done the Squarespace hackerrank online assessment? I searched and only saw a couple posts. I just did it and passed all the test cases but I don't think I had an optimal algorithm. Does anyone know if they care more about code quality/structure vs efficiency? I'm not sure if I'll get rejected or not... I'm guessing I needed the optimal algorithm but still holding out hope. #squarespace TC: 167k Yoe: 5
I took the test last weekend. Have my virtual on-site in a couple days. :) I actually only passed 5/6 test cases, but i made sure my code was super clean, well formatted, included javadoc, and is easily testable (if one tried to unit test it). Basically all things iād think about if i were writing production quality code. Good luck, let us know how it pans out!
Moved on to the onsite!
Nice. Good luck! They got back to me today (within 3 days). Rejected unfortunately.
Are the questions leetcode style? What's the level of difficulty?
I think generally the bar to pass is you write something that passes the test cases
That's kinda what I'm hoping as well. They told me to "focus on clean code" more than once, but never said to focus on efficiency. Also I was given 2 hours to do the test but they said you shouldn't take more than an hour on it. I could have tried to make it more efficient but since I didn't want to go much past an hour, all tests were passing, and my code was structured how I wanted it, I submitted. I'm just having a hard time knowing what they are looking for. They said an engineer would review my code if it passed at least 5/6 test cases... Oh well they said they'll get back in 4 business days so we'll see then...
It'll work out bro š don't stress so much
