Should I move to Amazon?
Hi all! I know majority on here work in PDE (product design engineering) but I’m looking to gauge some opinions from Ops regarding interview tips and do’s/donts. Is there anything specific hiring managers/recruiters look for in a candidate in Ops? Will be interviewing in my first “on site” on Monday for a team lead role. I have the skills to land the role and can properly articulate them, but want to know more of things like why an interviewer would choose one candidate over another/things that stand out in a candidate etc. I’ve been doing research and preparing but it would be great to hear some firsthand accounts as well. Thanks! #squarespace #interview #operations
I’m not in an Ops role (I work in Product), but I believe hypothetical scenario questions are often asked. “What would do if you X?” where X is “you had a combative stakeholder” as one example
Yeah situational questions for sure, prepping for those. That’s a good example, too. Do you know if the interviewers are usually laid back/not drilling you with questions and it’s more of a conversation? I know that’s usually based on whoever is interviewing but curious as a whole.
When I interviewed, it was causal, and when I do interviews, I try to be causal
What’s PDE?
Sorry, product, design, engineering. I’ll adjust in my post
