I've done 2 phone interviews and have been invited to go out to Bellvue, WA for the interview. What should I expect? The only thing stated is that I will have 4-6 interviews. I am still pretty on the fence about whether I want to even move forward let alone the job. We've not really had any discussion around compensation. Anyone got insight into the culture for design?
I know an entire design team at Amazon that sucks, led by childish, emotionally insecure people who weep in meetings where they are given feedback.
In Bellevue?
There is usually a portfolio review with 5 people who will interview you and maybe some others who will work closely with you. Then 5 interviews with a break for lunch. They will ask you about how you thought about your work, got customer input, etc. Also will focus on the leadership principles. Good luck.
I’m there with you! I have an on-site with amazon coming up for a sr ux role in SF- my experience was two phone interviews and an invite on-site for a role I really wanted, but then that role was filled internally and another team was interested in me. I’ll be doing an on-site with the new team for a ux role which is a quite different than the role I applied for so I’m a little concerned about this because my recent background aligned more with the previous role. Anyway, good luck to you!
I know a Sr UX Designer there and she is outstanding. If you are being considered that says a lot about you. It’s a great culture.
