Staff Engineer Salary in Zendesk

Pardon if such questions shouldn't be asked on this platform but I will give it a shot. I was wondering what it looks to get promoted to a Staff Engineer (P8) from a Senior Software Engineer position (P9)? - Roughly how much hike do you get in your basic salary? - Do you get a new RSU grant? If yes then how does it vest and roughly what is the value? - Given that company is going to become private, what do you think RSU grants will be converted to for promotions? Do you get a bigger hike in the basic salary or do you get other benefits? You may not know what will happen in Zendesk in such scenario but if you've been in this situation before in another company then that experience is still relevant here. #swe #zendesk #staffengineer #salary #tc

You are getting promoted from p9 to p8? Looks like a demotion. Usually bigger number is better ๐Ÿคฃ Sorry don'thave information to answer your question

From what I heard a promotion usually comes with 12-20% increase, some comes with grants but maybe this is gone with the PE

Couldnโ€™t agree more, so glad I GTFO of there. It was ridiculous listening to the same BS and leaders dodging questions in town halls all summer.
