I’m interested in starting a YouTube channel talking tech, careers, business, etc and I wanted to see what the potential impact to my career could be. I saw what happened to someone like TechLead but also not going to be trying to sell some class to get into faang and wouldn’t be talking about anything controversial or related to my company. There are other people like Joma and Mayuko who seem to have made it work for a while before leaving their companies to do their own things. If I stay generic and non-controversial, will I be fine? Worst case if it’s a problem, would I just be told to stop first before being fired?
As a millionaire?
One day 🙏🏻 lmao
I run a YouTube channel. Video tutorials on programming. It's not a problem but you can always take permission of your HR if there is a policy of no work outside the job. The effort and appreciation of subscribers is worth it.
That’s great, thanks!
Only thing I will say Is if you do it stick to it for 3 years and publish contents regularly on a fixed schedule. You will learn a lot and lot of your own concepts and understand of subjects will grow deeply.
Go for it. I wish you good luck 👍 Good to see that you want to pursue your passion

Yeah I’ve seen a lot of the day in the lives type videos. No major stories about those YouTubers having issue with HR?
