Starting new job after Thanksgiving; travel issues

Already submitted two week notice with a last day of the Friday after Thanksgiving, starting with a new company Monday 11/26. My family (wife and kids) will be heading to California from WA the weekend before Thanksgiving. My dilemma: current company (not Expedia) has 11/22 and 11/23 as paid holidays. I want to either travel with my family the Saturday before or fly down myself sometime later (M, Tu or Wed). Problem is my notice period is already accounting for two paid holidays and while I could ask for M-Wed off as PTO ("unlimited" so not accrued), that would basically mean I gave them 1 week notice. I could work remotely, but then I'd have the company laptop past my last day. What do you think?

It totally depends on what your company and manager agrees on.

Yes I know. Trying to not burn any bridges, but also don't want to sacrifice my sanity by staying working for the company as a lame duck until Thanksgiving where my efficacy will be minimal anyway. Presume that I work a deal out on any of the choices, with some choices naturally putting more pressure on than others.

Please note once already resigned officially and on notice period, vacations are not allowed. 2 weeks notice period is standard and a few days short is fine. But vacation during notice period is not fine no matter if it is unlimited or your own vacation

Good luck man! I’m starting/leaving jobs on the exact same timeframe/days

Luckily both jobs are in the same city and we are not traveling this year. So it should be simple
